bully

"I snuck into the girls dorm... but I got locked in the laundry room all night!"
— Casey

Casey Harris is a character in Bully, and is a member of the Jocks at Bullworth Academy. He was voiced by Dimitri Michann.

Character description

Casey is a big jock with slightly long blonde hair and dark blue eyes. He wears white sneakers, gray slacks, and a lettermans jacket buttoned at the bottom over a gray Bullworth T-shirt. In the winter he buttons his jacket up and wears a gray scarf. He is always wearing a blue and white baseball cap on his head which can be knocked off during a fight. He usually speaks unaccented American, but in some cutscenes he speaks in a guttural, stereotypical "stupid jock" voice.

It is possible he was named for the poem about an overconfident batter, Casey at the Bat.

Characteristics

Casey finds his coursework nearly impossible, often complaining about the difficulty of English class and revealing that he is retaking it for a third time. In fact, he also expects to be failed once again by Mr. Galloway. Similarly, he also dismisses Art class. To get by, Casey relies heavily on cheating, and he is shown buying Mr. Hattrick's test answers from Justin.

He's number 88 on the football team, and plays fullback. Casey holds a deep reverence for Mr. Burton, often wondering what his coach would do in stressful situations and boasting about the Burton's intense, physically abusive workouts. However, he is also afraid of being seen as a failure, as Casey is terrified of his coach finding out if he loses a fight. There are several indications that Casey is using anabolic steroids; he suffers from severe back acne, which he complains is irritating, and he experiences severe skin irritation from shaving his body hair. Aside from that, he also suffers from other hygiene issues common in locker rooms, such as a need for medical treatments (in his case, antifungal cream).

Casey is a bit full of himself, though highly unsuccessful in his social and romantic life. He holds an inflated view of his own physical appeal, claiming to be the school's best-looking guy, and falsely insisting that Lola is obsessed with him. In reality, though, his romantic pursuits are a complete failure; he admits to going an entire year without a single date, and once suffered the embarrassment of getting trapped overnight in a laundry room while trying to sneak into the girls' dorm. His insecurity fuels a hatred for the Nerds, whom he resents for being more intelligent than him. Likewise, he also despises the Preppies.

At home, Casey’s life is troubled. His father suffers from severe alcoholism, which Casey directly compares to Mr. Galloway's drinking habits.[1] Despite this, he is protective of his family, quickly taking offense if anyone speaks disrespectfully of his sister. He tends to call people "buddy", regardless of whether he's being friendly or hostile towards them.

Role in game

During the Halloween mission, Casey wears a devil mask and gives Jimmy a mission to throw eggs at three students.

During Jocks Challenge, Casey challenges Jimmy to a game of dodgeball for use of the Jocks Clubhouse. It's during the related cutscenes that he speaks in a "stupid jock" accent instead of his usual speaking voice. Multiple instances of Casey also participate in the Jock Boss Fight mission, playing as one of Ted's linemen and also making run-ins from the sidelines. Other than this, he plays no individual role in any of the Chapter 4 storyline missions. In the non-storyline mission Cheating Time, he and Mandy are seen buying test answers from Justin.

Over the course of the year he gives Jimmy two errands - one to stuff kids into lockers, the other to paint graffiti in Old Bullworth Vale. He can also be seen in the audience during wrestling lessons in Gym class.

Deleted content

During Halloween, Casey may have held a devil's pitchfork, which can still be found in the files of the game.

In Cook's Date, judging by dialogue, the original plan was for various students to engage in coordinated harassment of Edna and Dr. Watts. Casey and Juri would have been among them, hassling them about an athlete-specific diet.

According to an unused speech file, he may given an errand in which he requested Jimmy to stuff students into garbage cans (much like Pedro in the final game).[2]
